Volunteer Staff Application — Requirements & Verification Process

Thank you for your interest in joining the RIVET Studios™ moderation team. Becoming a Volunteer Staff Member is a serious commitment and carries real responsibility for the quality and safety of the Project Rosewood community. Before you apply, please read this page in full. There are mandatory requirements that apply to every applicant without exception.

Who We Are Looking For

RIVET Studios™ staff members are not enforcers — they are mentors. Our entire moderation philosophy is built on the Guide First principle: educating players before punishing them and treating every interaction as an opportunity to improve someone's roleplay experience. The ideal candidate is someone who is calm, objective, consistent, and genuinely invested in the community's growth.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have a solid understanding of how Project Rosewood is meant to be played

  • Can remain composed and professional in difficult or heated situations

  • Prioritize teaching over punishment at every stage of a moderation interaction

  • Respect the operational boundaries of the staff team and follow the chain of command

  • Have a clean record within Project Rosewood and the official RIVET Studios™ Discord

Eligibility Requirements

The following conditions must be met at the time of application:

No active bans

You must not have any active or recent bans within Project Rosewood or the RIVET Studios™ Discord server.

Clean conduct record

A documented history of staff impersonation, exploitation, or bias will result in automatic rejection.

Community standing

You should have demonstrated positive conduct within the community over a meaningful period of time. Short-term applicants with limited history are generally not considered.

Philosophy alignment

You must demonstrate a genuine understanding of and commitment to the Guide First philosophy during the interview process. Candidates who approach moderation as enforcement-first are not a fit for this team.

The Application Process — Overview

If you meet all of the above requirements, here is what the rest of the process looks like:

Application Review

The Recruitment Manager and Lead Recruiters screen your application for prior history, community standing, and overall conduct.

Background Verification

A check is conducted across all RIVET Studios™ assets including in-game history and Discord conduct.

Corporate Screening

Your application is submitted to Corporate for secondary review. Corporate retains the right to reject any candidate at this stage.

Formal Interview

A structured interview is conducted using a standardized script to evaluate your philosophy of mentorship and understanding of the divisional silo structure.

[RT] In-Training Phase

If accepted, you begin the four-module training program covering mentorship philosophy, technical proficiency, structural integrity, and roleplay excellence.

Certification Examination

Upon completing all four modules, you sit a formal examination. A minimum score of 80% is required to graduate. One retake is permitted.

Operational Assignment

Graduates are assigned to their division and begin active duties immediately. There is no probationary period — the training pipeline is designed to ensure full readiness before graduation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the staff role paid?

No. All staff positions at RIVET Studios™ are voluntary. There is no monetary compensation for moderation duties.

Can I apply if I was previously banned?

Applicants with active or recent bans are automatically disqualified. If your ban is historical and fully resolved, your eligibility will be assessed on a case-by-case basis during the application review.

How long does the full process take?

Timeline varies depending on application volume and the current state of the training pipeline. The Recruitment Manager will communicate expected timelines at each stage.

What happens if I fail the certification exam?

You are permitted one retake following a mandatory review period with your assigned Staff Trainer. Failure on the second attempt results in removal from the program. You may reapply in a future recruitment cycle.

Who do I contact if I have a question about my application?

Direct all application-related questions to the Training & Recruitment Division through the designated staff communication channel. Do not DM Corporate or Developers directly — this will result in your message being closed without a response.

RIVET Studios™ is committed to building a staff team that reflects the highest standard of professionalism, fairness, and community care. We look forward to reviewing your application. — RIVET Studios™ Training & Recruitment Division
